Skulltower

Vishnu (ビシュヌ, Bishunu) is a mid-boss appearing in Rosenkreuzstilette~.

It is a giant pillar of bones with a large blue skull and bony hands on the bottom, three purple skulls trapped in between a rib cage in the center, and a large pink horned skull with glowing eyes on the top. It launches cannonballs from its top and can also fire four small shots at the player, hoping to knock her into the bottomless pit below. Its weak point is the eyes of its top skull. It is found in the Ghost Town, Grolla Seyfarth's stage in the original game. Just like the Great Hydras in the Heiligtum des Wasserteufels, this mini-boss can also be skipped using Die geplante Zukunft. It can also be killed in one hit by a fully charged Klageharnisch.

In Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~'s C75 Trial Version, the mini-boss is the same as it was in the original game, still found in the Ghost Town. The battle is made more difficult by the addition of many platforms that rise upward on the right side and lower downward on the left side as the player fights against Vishnu. In the Mountainside Dungeon, Grolla's stage in later trials and finally the full game, Vishnu is replaced by Astaroth.

Trivia[]

  • Vishnu's name comes from the All-Pervading One from Hindu mythology. Vishnu, along with Brahma and Shiva, is a member of Hinduism's Holy Trinity and has many incarnations, among them Rama and Krishna.
