The Research Tower is the setting for Liebea Palesch's stage. It is a tall tower filled with many different traps ranging from falling spiked platforms, bladed block platforms, moving block platforms, and electric traps. Liebea was imprisoned here as her punishment for her refusal to join RKS's rebellion against the Holy Empire, and Count Zeppelin informed her that imprisoned her brother Kahl Palesch, and said it was hopeless to pray for his safe return.

Stage Hazards

There are four hazards in Liebea's stage; the first are mechanisms on the wall that shoot out beams of electricity. These beams can knock the player down if they are climbing a ladder. To avoid being knocked down, wait for the beams to die down, than advance. Next are the the spiked platforms that comes crashing down when the player approaches them. Though the platform may appear safe to walk on top of, touching these platform will hurt the player. If the play uses Silberflügel "Eins," the player can go over these platforms with ease after they have hit the ground. The last trap in Liebea's stage are blocks that fly up towards the screen and can crush the player if they are not quick enough to navigate through them.

The tower remains as the setting for Liebea's remodeled stage in Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel's~ C75 Trial Version, with a different layout and the addition of wind in the outside areas. However, the Research Tower from Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel's~ C75 Trial version later became the Zuverburg Clock Tower during development for the C76, Web Trial, and Final versions.

Stage Hazards

Liebea's remodeled stage in Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~ not only keeps most of the hazards it had in the previous game (sans the falling spiked lamps), but it also adds strong gust of winds (likely to be caused by Liebea, unintentionally though) in the outdoor section of her stage that pushes the player in its direction.

Trivia

  • The stage titles for the Research Tower contain different nods to the Brothers Grimm, who created several fairy tales. Rosenkreuzstilette's stage title for the tower refers to the fairy tale Rapunzel, which is about the titular girl with long hair who was kidnapped as a child and imprisoned in a tower with no stairs or ladder. The only method of entering the tower was by climbing up on her hair.
    • ~Grollschwert's stage title for the tower is the longest stage title in the entirety of Rosenkreuzstilette.
  • The Fortress City of Zuverburg can be seen in the background of the Research Tower.
  • The Research Tower contains nods to Elec Man's stage from Mega Man 1. However, none of the pre-fortress bosses in Rosenkreuzstilette are electrical-based.
  • The sentence "Rapunzel ist in tiefe Trauer" is grammatical incorrect; it is supposed to be " Rapunzel ist in tiefer Trauer", yet the translation "Rapunzel's Anguish" is correct.
