Talos (タロス Tarosu) is a character in Rosenkreuzstilette. He is a huge, grayish purple dragon who plays an important role in the game's story.

Rosenkreuzstilette[]

At the beginning of the game, Talos abducts Iris much to Spiritia's horror, and Lilli tries to catch up with him to speak to him, but is unable to do so. At the Iris Palace, Spiritia and Lilli find him chained up and set him free by shattering the red orb controlling the chains binding him, and as thanks for rescuing him, he gladly flies Spiritia to her final battle against Iris (whom he calls the one with the crimson eyes) when she talks him into doing so. Later afterwards, Talos rescues Spiritia when Iris self-destructs after her defeat and tries to crush her too, and flies her back home to her friends at Rosenkreuzstilette on a floating island where they happily reunite.

Talos also appears once in Rosenkreuzstilette ~Grollschwert~, serving the same purpose in the Last Stage of gladly taking Grolla Seyfarth to where Iris is hiding after she destroys the red orb controlling the chains binding him.

  • Talos is named after a Greek mythological creature well-known for his weak point being his ankle.
  • Talos bears a striking resemblance to the Wyvern from Castlevania Rondo of Blood and Castlevania Portrait of Ruin. This is because of the resemblance in sprites.
  • The scene in the beginning of Rosenkreuzstilette where Talos abducts Iris resembles the beginning scene in Super Metroid where Ridley steals the Metroid hatchling away from Samus.
  • Talos' name is often misspelled as "Daroth". This was later corrected to Talos in a Schwer & Schwer Alike update.
  • A screenshot of the Rosenkreuzstilette ~Lustatem~ April Fools' joke depicts Luste using the Leviathan to battle a huge dragon that heavily resembles Talos.
