Below is a list of items that can be very helpful to the player characters' endeavors in the Rosenkreuzstilette series. Many of them function similarly to the items seen in the Mega Man series. Most of the items can be seen laid out through the stages of the game or sometimes dropped by an enemy after being defeated (items dropped by an enemy however will disappear after a short period of time if not picked up).

1-UP[]

1-UPs, also known as extra lives, will increase the player's number of lives by one (with an maximum stock of nine lives). 1-UPs will allow the player to start over from the beginning or at certain point of the stage, referred to as a checkpoint, after losing a life. Throughout the Rosenkreuzstilette series, 1-UPs appear as the faces of the protagonists of their respective game; Spiritia 1-UPs can be found in Rosenkreuzstilette, Grolla 1-UPs can be found in Rosenkreuzstilette ~Grollschwert~, Freudia 1-UPs can be found in Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~, and Pamela 1-UPs can be found in Rosenkreuzstilette ~Weißsilber~.

Hidden Freudenstachel Tia 1-Ups[]

Max-Up[]

Maxup

Freudia encountering the Max-Up.

Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~ and Rosenkreuzstilette ~Weißsilber~'s Iris Stage IV contains a secret room with a Spiritia 1-UP atop a ladder when playing as Freudia. The 1-Up will max out her lives when collected.

Max-Down[]

However when playing as Pamela, this 1-UP is instead a trap item, depicting Spiritia with angry red eyes as opposed to her standard green eyes. Touching it will cause Pamela's lives to be dropped all the way to zero.

Schwer-Muta Bomb[]

Used by Schwer-Muta Casasola Merkle in her Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~ boss fight, these are tossed out by Evil Eddies as projectiles disguised as Schwer 1UP's, which explode upon hitting the ground or player.

Black Forest's Treasure[]

Rosenkreuzstilette[]

Lillisitem

The Black Forest's Treasure can only be found before the "fork-in-the-road" section of Trauare Wrede's stage, Heiligtum des Wasserteufels. By safely falling down into the spike-filled pit, Spiritia will find this at the bottom of the pit. It is an ancient treasure of the Black Forest that was watched over by fairies for generations. Lilli can use some of its powers and fight alongside Spiritia when being called out.

Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~[]

Strudelsitem

In Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~ a similar treasure can be found in Liebea Palesch's stage by sinking through a very large snow drift and going left in the second screen, the same one where the screen obscuring blizzard starts. Strudel can use it in the same manner as Lilli did before.

Cross Tank[]

A Cross Tank from the Rosenkreuzstilette series.

Cross Tanks can be used to fully restore the player's HP when the player needs it (up to ten). They can be found in certain areas in the Rosenkreuzstilette series, some of which will require a certain weapon to obtain them. Throughout the Rosenkreuzstilette series, they appear as blue canisters with a cross on it.

In Rosenkreuzstilette ~Grollschwert~, Lilli gives Spiritia a Cross Tank during her battle with Grolla in ~Grollschwert~.

Skull Tank[]

A Skull Tank tossed out by the Evil Eddy in Rosenkreuzstilette.

A Cross Tank with a skull and crossbones painted on it in place of the cross. This item is tossed out by the Evil Eddie in Schwarzer Kinderspielplatz, Schwer-Muta Casasola Merkle's stage in Rosenkreuzstilette. This Cross Tank is actually a trap to fool the player into picking it up, which will explode upon contact and deal damage to them. In Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstahcel~ Evil Eddie is no longer a stage enemy but these appear by themselves in one spot and Evil Eddies can throw them at you in Schwer's boss fight.

L-Tank[]

The L-Tank given by Freudia in Rosenkreuzstilette.

A special Cross Tank with an "L" on it was given by Freudia to Spiritia at the end of Zeppelin Stage 4 in Rosenkreuzstilette. After being fatally wounded by Iris Zeppelin, Freudia gave Spiritia this Cross Tank to revitalize her strength in order to stop Iris at her palace. This action mirrors a scene from Mega Man 5 where Proto Man aids Mega Man before the fight against Dark Man 4.

?-Tank[]

?-Tank

Found only in Iris Stage IV in Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstahcel~ ?-Tanks cannot be picked up and instead yield random items when shot. They are reminiscent of the "?" containers from Mega Man 3.

Gold Coins[]

A gold coin from the Japanese version of Rosenkreuzstilette.

These coins are a reference to the Coins from the Super Mario series. In the Super Mario Bros. section of Schwer-Muta Casasola Merkle's stage, Schwarzer Kinderspielplatz, many of the coins are out of reach, requiring the player to obtain Silberflügel "Eins" by defeating Grolla Seyfarth first to collect the majority of them. Should the player happen to obtain all one hundred gold coins, he/she will receive an 1-UP.

In the English translation of Rosenkreuzstilette, the gold coins were given a redesign to resemble the gold coins from New Super Mario Bros.

Life Pellet[]

Life Pellets in the Rosenkreuzstilette series.

Life Pellets are yellow blinking orbs that restores lost HP. They come in two sizes; Small Life Pellets stores two HP, Large Life Pellets restores ten HP. The Red Pellets, modeled after the Score Balls from the original Mega Man can only be found in the Super Mario Bros. section of Schwer-Muta's stage. Nothing happens if they are collected, but they will play a familiar jingle.

Weapon Pellet[]

Weapon Pellets

Weapon Pellets are blue orbs that restores the player's selected weapon energy. They come in two sizes; Small Weapon Pellets stores two points of Weapon Energy, while Large Weapon Pellets restores ten points of Weapon Energy. These pellets are completely removed from bonus modes due to Grolla and Pamela being restricted to only a single weapon.

Trivia[]

RksProtoWTank
  • Hidden within the graphic data of the C72 Trial version of the original Rosenkreuzstilette there is evidence that an item similar to the Wire from Mega Man 4 was originally meant to have an appearance in the game, but the idea was eventually removed in the final game. The "W" sprite seen in the data is an exact match to the Wire's sprite as seen in Dive Man's stage.
  • The location of the Black Forest's Treasure in Trauare's stage is a reference to the location of the Wire in Dive Man's stage in Mega Man 4. Both are down a spike filled pit in a water level with almost nothing else of interest on their respective screen.
