Irispalace

The Iris Palace.

The Iris Palace is the final destination of the player character in Rosenkreuzstilette and is the home of Iris Zeppelin, who has turned out to be a reincarnation of none other than Rosenkreuz who instigated the RKS Rebellion for her own amusement. It is the setting for the Iris Stages as well as the Last Stage, which starts out at the pinnacle of the palace and moves up into the the sky above the palace itself.

The Boss theme played in the boss battles against the bosses of the first two Iris Stages is "Closing Venue" by Unlimited Hellest. Said boss theme is also used in the battles against the Homunculi in Iris' quarters (Iris Stage III).

Trivia[]

  • Iris Stage I's stage title in Grolla's story refers to the Labyrinth, a maze in Greek Mythology that served as a prison for the Greek legendary creature, the Minotaur. The Labyrinth also doubled as a death sentence for criminals.
  • There is a glitch in Iris Stage I that if done correctly causes the water in the latter part to be electrified permanently, even after the loss of a life.
  • The waterfalls in Iris Stage II function similarly to the gravity machines in Gravity Man's stage in Mega Man 5.
  • The English stage title for Iris Stage III in Grolla's story was tweaked to match a similarly-named spell in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.
    • The Japanese stage title for said stage in said story makes it clear that the stage title is meant to refer to some form of godly vengeance.
  • The latter part of Iris Stage III resembles the Castle Entrance areas throughout the Castlevania games.
  • The area in Iris Stage III where the player character fights the eight Homunculi that take the form of her friends is similar to the tradition of Mega Man re-fighting all eight Robot Masters near the end of each of Dr. Wily's castles throughout the Mega Man series.
  • Talos, who previously appeared in the prologue before the opening stage, makes an appearance in the Last Stage, serving to guide the player character to the final battle location.
  • The Last Stage has two secret areas. The first secret area can be accessed by first using Silberflügel "Eins" to reach the top of the topmost column and then using Silberflügel "Zwei" to reach a platform with an Cross Tank and a 1-UP should Zwei have enough energy to carry her there. The second secret area can be accessed by falling down a pit and landing on a moving platform, then using Silberflügel "Zwei" to reach a platform with two Large Weapon Pellets. The player can use another moving platform to head back to the central platform afterwards and then use the moving platform to go back to where Talos dropped her off.
  • Performing certain actions using Silberflügel "Eins" in the Last Stage can cause the game to freeze.
  • The setting for the second phase of the final battle location at the end of the Last Stage uses the same backdrop as Rosenkreuzstilette's title screen.
  • The scene where the Iris Palace collapses after Iris self-destructs alludes to Mega Man 4's ending.
  • In the final scene of Rosenkreuzstilette ~Grollschwert~ before its staff roll, Grolla watches the Iris Palace collapse from a nearby cliff. This scene is similar to the ending scenes throughout the Castlevania games where the protagonist watches the castle (most recurrently Dracula's Castle) collapse. It is also similar to the ending scene of Mega Man X, where X watches the Sigma Palace as it collapses.
